STEFFES SPOTLIGHT: John Stempinski

John Stempinski has been with Steffes since we first opened our Grand Forks facility in 2012. He started as a laser operator and transitioned into a supervisor role within 4 months. His roles have shifted as our Grand Forks production has grown, including building supervisor and weldments supervisor. When we started to bring in multiple product families to our Grand Forks West plant, he became the supervisor for our flare manufacturing area. He remained in that position there for 3 years.

John has recently transitioned in to the role of Occupational Safety and Health Technician. In this position, John is in charge of everything safety related in our Grand Forks facilities. This includes ensuring that safety procedures are followed, analyzing current practices to look for opportunities to make them safer, knowing OSHA safety standards, reporting safety related statistics, and leading the plant in monthly safety training topics.

“I’ve always had a passion for safety” says John. “I was in the Air Force for 20 years and it really started there. My goal in this positon is that everyone goes home with all their fingers and toes and making sure that everyone, from managers to production workers, are all on the same page about making safety the number one priority.”

The safety of our employees is our top priority at Steffes. Having Occupational Safety and Health Technicians dedicated to this mission helps us maintain our culture of safety.

“I like working at Steffes because of the people i work with” says John. “People come to work with a smile on their face everyday and everybody talks to each other. I’ve worked at places where that’s not always the case and it really makes all the difference.”

In John’s free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Thank you for all of your hard work, John!
