Steffes welcomed Connor Dilse, a Senior at Scranton High School, to job shadow our team for the day. Dilse learned about our manufacturing facilities and processes while shadowing our team on the floor followed by shadowing our manufacturing engineers in their offices.
Dilse was interested in completing a job shadow at Steffes because of our new 36,000 square foot manufacturing facility and his interest in engineering. Connor had toured our facilities a year ago, so when his school counselor asked if he would like to complete a job shadow at Steffes he thought it was a great idea.
The most interesting takeaway Dilse learned during his job shadow was how there are so many different steps that go into manufacturing a single part. He was also impressed with how efficiently each different department works.
Connor would tell other students interested in completing a job shadow with Steffes that people were very nice and accommodating. During his tour, many employees even stopped to explain what they were working on.
If you or someone you know is interested in completing a job shadow at our facilities in either Dickinson or Grand Forks, reach out to our Human Resources department.
