Endurance Testing - Products or Components
The Steffes Design Team develops customized test fixtures for endurance testing in our facility or in the customer's facility. We have built test fixtures for individual components to very large machines. We have tested machines having as little as a fraction of a horsepower to 100 horse power and weighing thousands of pounds.
Endurance testing criteria can be developed by our engineers or provided by the customers. Tests are run by a manual operator or can have a programmable logic controller designed to run them.
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
PLCs are the electronic controllers that are used on automated assembly machines, test fixtures, or any other machine requiring electronic control. A PLC is typically used in specialty machines.
We can utilize a PLC in a prototype machine, allowing our customers to quickly evaluate its performance. Later in the product development, a specially designed controller replaces the PLC.
We interface PLCs with a variety of components: Proximity Sensors, Temperature Sensors, Potentiometers, Limit Switches, Pressure Transducers, On/Off Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, Proportional Hydraulic Valves, and Encoders.
