Overview
We work closely with customers to take products from concept to completion. Steffes Corporation develops, designs, tests, manufactures, and assembles products that are ultimately marketed by the customer. Sometimes our customer is the end user of the product or it may be another manufacturer.
A tree stump grinder for a skid steer loader is an example of a manufactured product at Steffes Corporation. This product utilized many of our engineering talents: Design, Testing, Prototyping, Production, and Assembly. This is a great example of our ability to take a product from Concept to Production. The stump grinder also utilizes much of our manufacturing equipment and expertise: Laser/Turret, Large Presses, CNC Brakes, Welding, Powder Paint, Specialty Tube Bending, CNC, Assembly, and Packaging & Shipping.
All changes to product specification inputs and process changes are tracked through a controlled Engineering Change Request/Notice (ECR/ECN) procedure. In addition, an employee Quality Cost Improvement (QCI) Program is used to encourage cost reduction, quality improvement and safety suggestions from all employees.
