Senior TRio SSS students attend Backpack to Briefcase Event

DICKINSON, N.D. – Senior students from Dickinson State University’s (DSU) TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program attended the fifth annual TRiO SSS Backpack to Briefcase event Oct. 16-17 on the DSU campus.

backpack-to-briefcase-4Backpack to Briefcase is an event that offers workshops to help graduating seniors prepare to transition into professional settings after college. Community members, DSU staff and faculty, and employees from American Bank Center and Steffes Corporation presented on several different topics including: dressing for success, social media tips, budgeting basics and understanding benefit options.

“This was a great opportunity for SSS participants to get a foundation in navigating the transition into the working world,” said TRiO intake and transition specialist, Christiana Pond. “We appreciated the community’s support and effort in making this year’s event a success for our students.”
