Micro Grids and Energy Storage

In rural Alaska, there are nearly 200 off-grid communities that heat their homes with fuel oil and generate their electricity with diesel generators. Intelligent Energy Systems (IES) has been working to economically add wind generators so the communities can use less diesel fuel. Since 2010 Steffes has been working with IES on storage solutions.
