SALES TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Eric Kraft

Eric Kraft has worked at Steffes for nearly 2 years as a Service Technician in energy services based in Casper, Wyoming. As a service technician, Eric travels to oil & gas basins around the United States to perform maintenance and installs on Steffes oil & gas equipment. Those basins include the Powder River Basin, DJ Basin, Greater Green River Basin, and Uinta Basin. 

“Most of my time is spent in the field helping customers with flare installs or troubleshooting and repairing them,” said Eric. “I’ve been able to use a lot of my skills as a mechanic to take care of things around our yard, and in my role as a service tech I’m able to use those skills I’ve learned elsewhere and apply them in a different way.”

The most common service he performs is flare pilot maintenance and repairs. 

Prior to working in the oil and gas industry, Eric worked in the coal mines for 10 years. He enjoys the team mentality of the oil & gas industry even though he is often working alone.

“Everyone is looking out for each other no matter what we’re doing or who you work for,” said Eric. “I enjoy the autonomy that I have in my day to day activities.”

Eric’s favorite part about working at Steffes is “the comradery between all the employees and the support I get from all my supervisors, despite the fact that I’m 500 miles from Dickinson, and the fact that Steffes genuinely cares about their employees.” 

When he’s not at work, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and most other hobbies that revolve around turning a wrench.
