Justin Bentz began his career with Steffes nearly 10 years ago as a Material Handler after being referred to Steffes by Matt Rothschiller. Bentz has held a variety of positions throughout the years, including the roles of Machine Operator, Assembly Technician, Supervisor, and now Production Lead. He leads production for skids, supporting the oil and gas product line.
The biggest change Bentz has noticed from when he started at Steffes is the change in product lines and rapid innovation at Steffes. For instance, the product family he now leads production for did not exist a decade ago when he started.
“Seeing how much we’ve grown and all the new projects we’ve taken on has been a big change,” said Bentz.
As a Production Lead, Bentz keeps tracks of parts, gets parts pushed through the lasers and brakes, and makes sure products are getting out the door and to the customer on time.
The most exciting project Justin has worked on was the 2019 expansion and addition of the Dickinson East facilities.
“When we added the addition onto the East building, I was a supervisor at the time so we were involved with getting the whole thing setup and helping it flow as smoothly as possible,” said Bentz.
He is looking forward to things picking up in 2021 to levels they were before the pandemic.
“It was really fun when we were busy, even though every day seemed crazy there were always new challenges but the days went quick,” send Bentz. “Even though we were busy everyone was excited, motivated and happy to be here.”
Bentz’s greatest professional achievement is completing Dale Carnegie training. His favorite Steffes event is the annual soup & chili potluck (which we hope to bring back in 2021) and his favorite part about working at Steffes are the friendships he has made along the way.
“I’ve made some lifelong friends working here,” said Bentz.
In his free time, Justin enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, and doing projects around his house or helping his friends with their home renovations.
