Steffes began as a metal fabrication company in 1967 and has since grown to providing contract manufacturing services for a variety of industries. As a partner in manufacturing, Steffes provides innovative ideas and solutions for the companies we work with. We have been working with one specific company in the construction equipment industry for more than 20 years. Since this partnership began in the late 1990’s, we have completed more than 200 projects for this particular company.
Our experienced teams offer innovative solutions to bring a fresh perspective as a contract manufacturing partner. Because of our process to engineer and design products for manufacturability we offer improved efficiencies for the companies we work with, resulting in the ability to take the product to market faster – often with lower upfront costs.
Some initiatives we have implemented in order to best support our customer relationships as a contract manufacturer include developing our internal engineering team, utilizing 3D CAD modeling, investing in advanced manufacturing technology including 10 welding robots, advanced tooling, and powder coat painting. In order to meet customer production levels, we have implemented LEAN manufacturing practices and Continuous Improvement methods.
Steffes makes significant investments in innovation. One area where we invest heavily is welding – adding more welders, weld cells, and continuing to increase the amount of robotic welding at our facilities. Our team of experienced engineers continues to grow and gain knowledge of advanced industry technology. Lastly, our fabrication equipment continues to improve, and we have invested in additional equipment such as presses and lasers.
Robotics play a major role in the manufacturing landscape today and can offer many benefits like the ability to complete repetitive tasks, reduce margins of error, and enable people to work on other areas of production like programming and operating advanced robotic technology. Welding robots at Steffes perform repeatable movements with accuracy and can reduce the time spent correcting errors. Our quality assurance program checks for errors before products leave our facilities, allowing us to ship products faster.
