Steffes Spotlight: Ron McFadden

Ron McFaddenAs we recognize our veterans this month at Steffes, we are proud to feature a member of our team who experiences the significance of Veterans Day firsthand: Production Supervisor Ron McFadden. Ron served in the United States Air Force as a security specialist for 13 years and achieved the rank of staff sergeant before his discharge.

His first duty station was Plattsburgh Air Force Base, located in the northeast corner of New York. He then spent two years overseas in the 7393 Munition Support Squadron in Turkey. Ron’s final assignment took him to the Minot Air Force Base in Minot, North Dakota, where he worked in the missile fields.

After Ron concluded his service in the United States Air Force, he joined team Steffes in 2013 because of the great reputation Steffes has as an employer. “I heard it was a good place to work, and Steffes is always coming up with new products,” he said of his interest in the company.

Ron’s first seven years at Steffes were spent in the skids facility in Dickinson, North Dakota. During his first few years, he held several different positions including, material handler, machine operator, assembly technician, team lead, and production lead. He recently took a new position as a production supervisor, overseeing Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) and assembly production. In his current role, he helps ensure products are assembled and shipped in a timely manner and that he has the right people in place to make that happen. Now that he works in ETS, he is especially excited about new products in that division, including the new Serenity line.

When asked what he likes most about working at Steffes, Ron referenced the culture of teamwork.

“I like how everyone will pitch in to help each other get the product out the door.”

During Ron’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his kids, cooking, and volunteering as a firefighter.
