Steffes Spotlight: Tyler Bell

In August of 2021, Steffes announced their decision to expand into the southeast by acquiring a manufacturing facility in Shelby, North Carolina. This 20.9 million dollar investment in Cleveland County will create 130 new, full-time jobs over the next five years.

Today, we would like to introduce you to one of the first new North Carolina employees to join our team!

Tyler Bell was born and raised in North Carolina and joined the Steffes team as an HR Generalist just over three months ago. While she initially went to school to be a teacher, she graduated with a certification in medical assisting. After finding her way into the field of human resources a short time later, she has never looked back.

“One of the things I enjoy most about being in HR is working so closely with people and establishing relationships within the organization by speaking to employees and building trust,” said Tyler. “I’m a strong believer in culture and building relationships, and I’m looking forward to the Shelby plant opening up so I can engage with our staff in person on a daily basis.”

Human resources team members play a critical role in recruitment, retention, managing employee benefits, and the organization’s overall culture as they connect with employees in every area, ensuring standards are being met while maintaining a positive and productive work environment. When asked what drew her to the HR team at Steffes and the opportunity to help open our new facility, she spoke highly of the organization’s core values and teamwork environment.

“Throughout the interview process, it was apparent the core values and culture is a top priority at Steffes. I could tell that this really is their culture, not just something they say. Instead of just talking about it, they actually live it.”

Because production hasn’t yet started in North Carolina, Tyler is helping support recruitment and retention efforts across the organization and is working on building relationships in the Shelby community. She has had the opportunity to meet many great people through her work with groups like Cleveland Community College and multiple charity organizations, finding ways for Steffes to support and collaborate with them in Shelby.

According to Tyler, Shelby is a small-town and is a friendly place to live. And because there are not a lot of job opportunities within Shelby, Steffes coming to Shelby is significant.

“The innovation and vision for Steffes and the future for the company is exciting and will create many opportunities, especially in Shelby. I am looking forward to creating the same culture here that Steffes stands by and is proud of.”

In Tyler’s free time, she loves to travel and spend time with her family. Whether she’s headed to the beaches of Florida or the mountains of Tennessee, you’ll find her playing games with her children and spending time with her extended family. She has already visited North Dakota this winter and still speaks fondly of traveling, so it’s safe to say we found a pretty special new team member!

Welcome to the team, Tyler!
